Dennyโ€™s, the American diner with over 1,400 restaurants in the U.S., is partnering with the
Seafood Nutrition Partnership to promote seafood during National Seafood Month this October.
The collaboration, launched in 2022, encouraged customers to order seafood at Dennyโ€™s
restaurants and increased seafood unit sales significantly.

โ€œWe are excited to continue our successful relationship with Dennyโ€™s to help consumers try a
delicious seafood option during National Seafood Month,โ€ added Linda Cornish, SNP Founder
and President. โ€œThe health and nutritional benefits of eating seafood are essential for your brain,
heart, and overall wellness.โ€

This year, Dennyโ€™s is excited to entice consumers to โ€˜Fall In Love With Seafood,โ€™ Seafood
Nutrition Partnershipโ€™s newest consumer campaign.

Dennyโ€™s restaurants will feature delicious Wild Alaska Salmon, provided by Trident Seafoods,
grilled to perfection and served with two sides and dinner bread. The limited-time entree can be
ordered for dine-in, pick-up, or delivery via Dennys.com.

โ€œTrident is honored to represent our Alaska fishermen in delivering nutritious, delicious, and
sustainable salmon to Dennyโ€™s restaurants,โ€ added Christine Garvey, VP of National Accounts
for Trident Seafoods and SNP Board Emeritus.

Seafood Nutrition Partnership Launches New โ€˜Fall in Love with Seafoodโ€™ National Seafood Promotion Campaign

October 4, 2023 โ€” The following was released by the Seafood Nutrition Partnership:

The Seafood Nutrition Partnership is excited to unveil its new public health promotion campaign
to help Americans live healthier, happier, and smarter by increasing their consumption of
seafood. The โ€˜Fall in Love with Seafoodโ€™ campaign launches in October during National Seafood
Month and continues throughout 2024 reminding consumers how delicious, nutritious, and
versatile seafood is to enjoy at home and away from home.

Less than a quarter of Americans eat seafood 2x per week as recommended by the Dietary
Guidelines for Americans (DGA), The American Heart Association (AHA), and the World Health
Organization (WHO).

โ€œThroughout this campaign, weโ€™ll educate consumers that seafood is a lean protein with health
benefits they can enjoy and count on every day,โ€ says Linda Cornish, Seafood Nutrition
Partnership President and Founder.

For more than a decade, SNP and its partners have inspired a healthier America and raised
awareness about the essential nutritional benefits of seafood. This campaign will serve as a
platform to show that an overarching message can help all points along the seafood supply
chain and complement SNP partnersโ€™ campaigns.

The โ€˜Fall in Love with Seafoodโ€™ campaign, developed with award winning agency Milestone
Integrated Marketing, aims to break through social and digital media clutter to showcase the
taste appeal of a wide variety of seafood with bold, mouthwatering imagery and cheeky
headlines.

โ€œUltimately, we want to increase consumersโ€™ craving for seafood and encourage America to Fall
in Love with Seafood,โ€ adds Sarah Crowley, SNP VP of Marketing and Communications. โ€œThe
new campaign resonates with the primary target โ€“ 85% of occasional seafood consumers
surveyed agreed the campaign made them want to eat more seafood.โ€

The campaign soft launches in October 2023 during National Seafood Month and will continue
year-round with key market activations starting in January 2024. Key retailers and foodservice
partners will be announced ahead of the new year.
โ€œRunning the pilot campaign right after the new year is ideal timing as so many Americans are
setting New Yearโ€™s resolutions to eat healthy and seafood is a key part of a healthy diet,โ€ says
Paul Doremus, SNP Board Chair and Trident Seafoodsโ€™ VP for Sustainability Strategy and
Policy.
This national seafood promotion campaign is being introduced at an important time as seafood
sales and consumption have declined since the growth seen during the pandemic. The
โ€˜Fall in Love with Seafoodโ€™ campaign will empower the seafood industry to demonstrate a
collaborative, strategic effort to increase seafood sales across the board and improve the health
of Americans.

The โ€˜Fall in Love with Seafoodโ€™ promotion campaign will be supported by digital and social
media, influencer marketing, trade marketing, public relations outreach, and new recipes and
blogs on the SNP website. It will also be activated by SNP supporters and partners via a
campaign toolkit which includes social graphics, videos, recipes, and in-store signage.

Monument Advocacy Leading Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign

March 7, 2022 โ€” The following was released by Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign:

The Seafood Nutrition Partnership and the National Seafood Council Task Force have hired Monument Advocacy to lead Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign โ€“ its effort to secure Congressional funding for a national seafood marketing campaign. Monument is a Washington, D.C.-based government relations and public affairs firm, specializing in achieving advocacy through compelling stories.

Seafood is an essential industry for local economies, not only along the coasts, but throughout the country. The COVID-19 pandemic hit the industry hard, with frontline workers such as fishers, farmers, retailers, and processors bearing the brunt of the economic impact. Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign will provide a platform for these seafood workers to tell their stories to policymakers and educate Washington on the vital benefits of seafood.

Their testimonials and information on the benefits of seafood are available at seafoodcampaign.org, which also includes a platform for advocates to take action in support of the campaign. To date, nearly 200 seafood workers and supporters from 37 states have joined the campaign, and more than 100 have participated in the campaignโ€™s first ask โ€“ signing onto letters to Congress, which speak to the importance of the industry to their communities, public health, and the environment.

โ€œThis campaign will focus on how essential the seafood industry is to jobs and the economies of Congressional membersโ€™ home states and districts,โ€ explains Campaign Director Matt McAlvanah. โ€œIt will be a campaign about the positive community, health and environmental impact of seafood. Particularly as the industry works to stabilize after COVID, we are optimistic that a campaign that has united leading seafood companies and non-profits will find support on the Hill.โ€

As the appropriations process for FY23 progresses during the Spring and Summer, Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign will continue to connect its advocates with key Members and delegations through meetings with Congressional offices, video testimonials, op-eds, Member visits, and more. Ultimately, the coalition aims to secure $25 million per year over five years for the marketing campaign, which will focus on educating the public on the economic, health and environmental benefits of seafood. With that information top-of-mind for consumers, the campaign should help the industry rebound for the foreseeable future, and firmly establish seafood as a staple in Americansโ€™ diets.

Learn More in Boston, Seafood Expo North America

  • Americaโ€™s Seafood Campaign will be on the expo floor at Booth 908 at the Seafood Expo North America (SENA) in Boston, March 13-15.
  • The Task Force will be conducting a town hall official SENA session, โ€œUnite the Industry & Creation of a National Seafood Marketing Campaignโ€ on Monday, March 14 at 1:30.
