Fisheries scientists take a shot at predicting the future of their fields in a new book that considers how fisheries science must change in the face of climate change and demands for ecosystem-based fisheries management.
Brian J. Rothschild, a fisheries scientist at UMass Dartmouth’s School for Marine Science and Technology, co-edited "The Future of Fisheries Science in North America" (Springer, April 2009) with fisheries scientist Richard J. Beamish of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Two of the book’s 33 chapters were authored or co-authored by SMAST scientists, including Kevin D. E. Stokesbury and Steven X. Cadrin.
