The Commercial Fisheries Research Foundation has recently posted the summary report from the Short-Lived Species Workshop that was held September 4-5, 2013, at the Commercial Fisheries Center, Kingston, RI.

The workshop was organized in collaboration with Rutgers & MARACOOS and included a gathering of representatives from the commercial fishing industry, NMFS NEFSC, MARACOOS, private and academic research institutions, MAFMC, and state agencies. Over the course of the 1.5 day workshop, participants shared background information and discussed research needs in relation to squid(longfin and illex) and butterfish. The summary report outlines the key background and discussion points.
