A community-supported fishery is collaborating with The Copley Group to bring fresh seafood to the Fenway area.
Cape Ann Fresh Catch Community Supported Fishery, based in Gloucester, will be making deliveries every other Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 111 Queensberry St. The spring delivery season began March 12; the second of six deliveries will be this Saturday.
Last year, Cape Ann Fresh Catch tried to add a delivery site to Fenway, but there wasn’t enough interest to make it financially viable. That changed this year, with marketing help from The Copley Group, a real estate firm located in the Fenway area.
Members who join the delivery collaborative have the choice of purchasing $24-a-week shares for two pounds of fillets, or $20-a-week for four to six pounds of whole fish. Cape Ann Fresh Catch cannot predict which fish will be included until the morning of delivery.
“You won’t get fish any fresher unless you are out there catching it yourself,” said Steve Tousigmant, outreach coordinator for CAFC.
