WASHINGTON, D.C.– 29 Feb 2012 – Congressman Bill Keating joined Saving Seafood executive director Bob Vanasse on WBSM's Saving Seafood Radio.
Congressmen Keating represents the 10th Congressional District of Massachusetts, which includes the South Shore of Boston and Cape Cod. He is running for re-election in the new 9th Congressional District which covers the South Shore of Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and the South Coast including the Port of New Bedford.
The Congressman discussed a number of issues related to fisheries including:
– Legislation to remove control of the Asset Forfeiture Fund from NOAA.
– Gulf of Maine Cod and problems with stock surveys and assessments.
– NOAA's response to reports on its enforcement, science, and management.
