January 15, 2015 — U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton plans to attend Friday's joint public meeting in Gloucester on the state of the commercial fishing industry, a spokesman for the congressman confirmed today.
"The congressman will definitely be there," said Andy Flick, chief of staff for the newly seated congressman from the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District. "It's been on his schedule for quite some time."
Moulton, who defeated nine-term incumbent John Tierney in last fall's Democratic primary and dispatched Republican opponent Richard Tisei in the general election, has emerged as a strong advocate for the fishing industry and a repeat visitor to Gloucester to meet with fishermen and other industry stakeholders from the campaign forward.
Friday's public meeting, organized jointly by the City Council and the Fisheries Commission, is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the upstairs Kyrouz Auditorium at City Hall.
