CHESTERTOWN, Md. — October 21, 2013 — Harvesters land and sea coalition, a recently created group of watermen and farmers, has filed a lawsuit against the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
In a press release, the group stated that recent regulations that cut the Menhaden quota were taken so that Maryland could receive a federal grant.
Captain Robert Newberry, the spokesperson for the group says the Chesapeake Bay should not be regulated the same way the Atlantic Ocean is.
