December 17, 2013 — The following was released by NOAA Fisheries:
NOAA Fisheries announced that effective today, the 2013 commercial summer flounder quota for federally permitted fishing vessels allocated to New Jersey has been reached and the fishery is closed. With this action, vessels issued Federal moratorium summer flounder permits may not land summer flounder in New Jersey through the end of the calendar year. The New Jersey state fishery for summer flounder has already been closed.
