April 2, 2013 — Representatives of the recreational fishing industry are stepping up efforts to highlight the importance of the industry in southern New England economy.
Industry representatives are set to meet federal and state regulators during the inaugural Southern New England Recreational Fishing Symposium set for Tuesday here. Organizers say the initiative will seek to characterize the economic impact of recreational fishing and its potential. Participants will also discuss the future of recreational fishing, challenges of managing the industry, and access to the shore.
