The saga continues, and so what barrister among us will heed the call of the bellowing echoes of liberty? Is it not a sin to be silent when it is our duty to protest?
Just prior to the formation of our nation, Sam Adams understood that tolerance was not liberty and continued to pick a fight with at the time the most powerful nation on earth, England. Even when the British blockaded the Boston Harbor, Sam Adams demanded that the rights of fishermen to fish were being violated.
Several years later, after we won our freedom, Sam Adams demanded that the rights of fishermen be included in the peace treaty document with the British crown. Liberty was written in his heart.
Fast forward to today, and we find that the constitutional rights of our own fishermen appear to be violated by one of the most stupid regulations ever promulgated by a federal agency in the history of the world! It’s called the "bycatch" regulation.
