May 3, 2013 — The following was released by the Northeast Regional Ocean Council:
Join us for public meetings to discuss draft regional ocean planning goals and potential actions to achieve these goals. These meetings also will provide an opportunity to review related products (maps) developed to date.
The draft goals will be available here by mid-May. Public meetings will be held at the locations and dates as shown below.
These meetings will occur within the comment period during which the Northeast Regional Planning Body seeks your input regarding these draft goals. Public comment will be taken at these meetings. If you are not available to attend but wish to provide input, the public comment deadline is June 28, 2013. Additional details for providing public comment will be available with the draft goals on this website in mid-May.
The draft goals were developed by the Northeast Regional Planning Body, a group of state, tribal and federal representatives from New England who are working to implement the National Ocean Policy and advance regional ocean planning over the next few years. Proceedings from their first two meetings are available at the Meeting Information page. Their next meeting in the early fall of 2013 will be open to the public, when they will revise these draft goals and actions based on public discussion and input.
