The University of New Hampshire will host a one day workshop on January 30 at the Urban Forestry Center, Portsmouth, NH.
This workshop will be an opportunity to bring together practitioners, industry, and interested public from the New England region to explore future directions for river herring management and foster new collaborations. Through discussion in facilitated break-out groups, it will be an opportunity to express your views independent of the New England Fishery Management Council, Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council, and Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission process. Outcomes from the workshop will include a summary of findings, which will be made available to the public, provided to the management bodies, and inform our project by recommending how to improve river herring management coast-wide.
