September 29, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 12,800 pounds of fish and 47,200 pounds of scallops Thursday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 10 to 20 Channel: 14,200 pounds ($13.75)
Scallops, U12 Georges: 6,800 pounds ($15.28)
Scallops, 20 to 30 NCLA: 5,800 pounds ($12.95)
Scallops, 20 to 30 Mid Atlantic: 5,500 pounds ($13.05)
