September 15, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 83,700 pounds of fish and 37,200 pounds of scallops Wednesday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scrod haddock: 22,100 pounds ($1.57)
Small haddock: 16,400 pounds (80 cents)
Scallops, 20 to 30 Channel: 14,300 pounds ($12.98)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Delmarva: 11,900 pounds ($12.60)
