June 30, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 71,600 pounds of fish and 87,500 pounds of scallops Wednesday. Top species landed and average prices were:
Scrod haddock: 42,300 pounds ($1.43)
Small haddock: 18,800 pounds (76 cents)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 13,700 pounds ($12.70)
Scallops, U10 Georges: 11,800 pounds ($15.38)
Scallops, U10 Channel: 10,200 pounds ($15.25)
The Portland, Maine, Display Auction handled 19,200 pounds of fish and 100 pounds of scallops Wednesday.
No landings were reported Friday at the New England Fish Exchange in Boston.
