July 3, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 34,500 pounds of fish and 82,600 pounds of scallops Tuesday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 10 to 20 Close Area II: 22,900 pounds ($12.78)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 16,200 pounds ($11.93)
Scallops, U10 Close Area II: 15,300 pounds ($14.70)
Scallops, 20 to 30 Close Area II: 6,900 pounds ($12.75)
