July 25, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 52,000 pounds of fish and 95,400 pounds of scallops Wednesday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 10 to 20 Delmarva: 32,400 pounds ($12.43)
Scallops, U10 Georges: 25,900 pounds ($15.58)
Scrod haddock: 17,800 pounds ($1.60)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 13,600 pounds ($12.45)
Scallops, U10 Mid Atlantic: 10,100 pounds ($15.23)
The Portland, Maine, Display Auction handled 36,200 pounds of fish and 200 pounds of scallops Wednesday.
