October 29, 2012 — The October 29th PRFC Atlantic Menhaden Public Hearing in Colonial Beach, VA has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy to Thursday, November 1 at 7:00 PM.
Please be aware that there will be a detour for anyone coming to Colonial Beach from the direction of the Potomac River Bridge on Rt. 205. On Rt. 205, the detour will take a right on Rt. 631, which will take you around to intersect with Rt. 205, below Colonial Beach. From there they take a left on Rt. 205 to go in to Colonial Beach. The October 29th Atlantic Menhaden Public Hearing in Dover, DE (DE DNREC) has been postponed due to Hurricane Sandy.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has cancelled its October 30th Atlantic Menhaden Hearing at the Easton Armory in Easton, MD, due to Hurricane Sandy and concern for public safety. It still plans to conduct its hearing scheduled for November 1 in Chesapeake Beach, MD.
While public safety is the primary concern, the Commission wants to provide adequate opportunity for the public to comment on Draft Amendment 2. If hearings are cancelled or members of the public are not able to attend hearings, they are encouraged to submit written comment. Draft Amendment 2 is available on the Commission website at www.asmfc.org under Breaking News or by contacting the Commission at 703.842.0740.
