Colleagues,
After many weeks of reflection, I have decided to leave the NEFSC to
pursue new challenges in NOAA. I have been asked to provide senior
leadership for some international and national programs that are managed
through our agency's headquarters.
At the NEFSC, we have developed new programs, secured new funding, and
passed an Inspector General's investigation which referenced our science
as world class. I know you will continue to support Frank Almeida as he
takes over as Acting Director and finds an Acting Deputy. As you all
know him well, you know that he is and will continue to be a strong and
effective, positive advocate for everyone and every program. It has
been my privilege to work with you and to represent your dedicated
efforts these past years. I wish each of you the best in your personal
and professional lives.
Take care,
Nancy Thompson
