ARLINGTON, Va. — OCTOBER 26, 2012 — With the potential impacts of Hurricane Sandy affecting the Mid-Atlantic and Southern New England states, public hearings on Draft Amendment 2 to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Atlantic Menhaden scheduled for the week of October 29 may be postponed or cancelled. The Commission will issue additional press releases and make efforts to maintain the current schedule on its website (www.asmfc.org) if changes are made; please check Breaking News for updates.
While public safety is the primary concern, the Commission wants to provide adequate opportunity for the public to comment on Draft Amendment 2. If hearings are cancelled or members of the public are not able to attend hearings, they are encouraged to submit written comment.
Draft Amendment 2 is available on the Commission website at www.asmfc.org under Breaking News or by contacting the Commission at 703.842.0740.
