January 2, 2013 — NOAA announced today the commercial quotas and recreational harvest limits for the summer flounder, scup and black sea bass fisheries for 2013.
The overall catch limit (commercial and recreational combined) for the black sea bass fishery is unchanged from 2012 at 4.5 million lb. To account for low biomass in recent years, the overall catch limit for the summer flounder fishery has been reduced by 13 percent to 22.3 million lb, and the catch limit for the scup fishery has been reduced by 5 percent to 38.7 million lb.
