WASHINGTON, D.C. – Speaking at the Maine Fisheries Forum today, Samuel Rauch, acting assistant adminstrator of NOAA Fisheries Service, assured fishermen that the 10% carryover provision will not be affected by any interim measures that might be adopted. Mr. Rauch stated, "We heard concerns from fishermen that as part of their business planning, they needed to know as soon as possible whether they would be able to carryover up to 10 percent of their 2011 allocation into the 2012 fishing year as they had done in 2010/2011. We want to assure fishermen that the interim measures we are working on for 2012 will not affect their ability to carryover this allocation into the new fishing year."
