The National Marine Fisheries Service has announced that effective 0001, June 29, 2009, the Closed Area II Scallop Access Area will be closed to all scallop vessels for the remainder of the 2009 scallop fishing year. Vessels on a Closed Area II trip at the time of the closure announcement must leave the Closed Area II prior to 0001, June 29, 2009. Fisheries Survival Fund action:
The Fisheries Survival Fund is trying to collect all of the Closed Area II observer information for analysis. However no one working directly with FSF on a day to day basis will know which observer reports are from with which vessels. If you have questions or had an observed trip and are willing to participate, please contact David Frulla at dfrulla@kelleydrye.com
