BOSTON—Three Massachusetts lawmakers are asking the U.S. Commerce secretary to increase the uncaught quota that fishermen can carry into the coming fishing year.
New England fishermen are allowed to catch a certain amount of each species annually. They don't come close to reaching the limit on some.
U.S. Reps. Bill Keating and Barney Frank and Sen. John Kerry sent a letter asking Secretary Gary Locke to consider increasing the percentage.
