US Representative William Keating is visiting over a dozen small businesses in the 10th Congressional District this week with one clear goal: create jobs.
From Chatham to Scituate (including a public meeting at the Scituate Town Library this Friday], the first-term congressman will sit down with a slew of small businesses, many of them involved with the fishing industry, to gain better insight into the problems facing these business owners and how the federal government can help.
“Our purpose of doing that is to have a first hand and diversified view of what we can do,” Keating said. “I wanted to hear first hand throughout the district, just listen to what people have to say and take that information.”
The regulated nature of the fishing industry makes the governmental role that much more important, Keating said.
