Questioning the depth and sincerity of incumbent Democratic Congressman John Tierney's commitment to the fishing industry, Republican challenger Bill Hudak Thursday said he was aiming for a seat on the House subcommittee responsible for fishing and oceans.
Hudak also said he believes revelations of misuse of fines and excesses of authority by federal fisheries law enforcers warrants a call for an independent special prosecutor.
To underscore his commitment, Hudak recalled participating in the protest rally organized by about 300 fishermen last Oct. 31 in the parking lot of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration at Blackburn Industrial Park's new regional office building.
