Each week, on WBSM in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Bob Vanasse of Saving Seafood joins host Phil Paleologos to discuss issues related to the fisheries with news-making guests.
July 15, 2010: Congressman Walter Jones (R-North Carolina) joins hosts Phil Paleologos and Bob Vanasse on WBSM's Saving Seafood hour this morning to discuss current issues in fisheries, including his call for the resignation of NOAA Administrator Dr. Jane Lubchenco, the recent findings of the Inspector General on inappropriate uses of the Asset Forfeiture Fund, and the six-fold increase in pollock allocations.
Later in the show, Congressman Barney Frank (D-Massachusetts) makes a surprise guest appearance to discuss these issues as well. He also talks about the White House reaction to his demand last week for Dr. Lubchenco's resignation, his retraction of that demand and his willingness to work with her after Administration assurances, and also his willingness to ask for her replacement again if the issues are not addressed.
