March 5, 2015 — The following was released by NOAA:
We approved an exemption request from several sectors who proposed to withhold 30 metric tons of Gulf of Maine (GOM) cod annual catch entitlement in return for regulatory exemptions from the current 200-lb GOM cod trip limit and the GOM broad stock area restrictions.
The exemption took effect on March 3, 2015, and will be in place through the end of the 2014 fishing year (April 30, 2015).
Notice of the exemption filed in the Federal Register at 4:15pm on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, and is available for public inspection. The Notice will publish in the Federal Register on March 9, 2015.
