WASHINGTON (Saving Seafood) — March 2, 2015 — A North Carolina commercial fisherman and Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council member is one of six national honorees of Anheuser-Busch’s annual class of ‘Busch Heroes,’ noted for being hard workers who “earn it.”
Last month, Anheuser-Busch announced its 2015 Class of ‘Busch Heroes,’ recognizing six hard-working men and women who go above and beyond at their job and in their communities. Those six men and women include Dewey Hemilright, a commercial fisherman and Council member on the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) from Wanchese, North Carolina. According to Busch, Hemilright and his fellow honorees truly “earned it,” and as a result, their unique stories will be shared nationally through a multichannel campaign this year.
Hemilright, a fisherman who also serves on the MAFMC, is a dedicated spokesman for the fishing industry. He partners with organizations like Provider Pals to help teach kids all over the country about the importance of water policy, sustainable living, and fishing.
Saving Seafood congratulates Mr. Hemilright on this well-deserved honor, and also notes our appreciation for Anheuser-Busch’s recognition of a hard-working fisherman. As Hemilright notes in a new video released by Anheuser-Busch, “It’s not an easy task to produce the seafood Americans are eating.”
In addition to appearing in print advertisements, retail displays and region-specific billboards, Hemilright’s mini-documentary will be widely circulated, visually sharing the work of fishermen just like Hemilright. Anheuser-Busch’s campaign gives important educational insight into the tough aspects of industries like commercial fishing. Here is the full list of the six honorees:
– Andrew Dunavant: Arborist from Richmond, Va.
– Casey Culler: Arborist from Richmond, Va.
– Dallas Puskar: Special Education teacher and construction worker from Cleveland, Ohio
– Dewey Hemilright: Commercial fisherman from Wanchese, N.C.
– Mason Kern: Brick Mason and former Coast Guardsman from Miramar, Fla.
– Morgan Cook: Cattle farmer from Floral City, Fla.
