February 25, 2015 — One of Gloucester’s signature businesses has not only launched a new product.
It’s putting a new mascot’s face on that product, and taking it on a coast-to-coast tour.
Gorton’s Seafood recently introduced the company’s new Smart & Crunchy Fish Sticks and Fillets, which company officials describe as a reinvention of their classic breaded fish sticks and fillets.
Now the Gorton’s crew, which kicked off the tour outside Gloucester headquarters Tuesday, is embarking on a coast-to-coast interactive tour, visiting six cities from nearby Peabody to Seattle to introduce the products via free samples — complete with a “Smarty Crunchman” mascot.
The Smart & Crunchy tour is Gorton’s first-ever national tour for a new product line, and it begins Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Peabody’s Northshore Mall.
