The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council is requesting public input on an amendment to the fishery management plan for coastal migratory pelagics (king mackerel). The public is encouraged to provide written comment and participate in a scoping webinar today (February 4) at 6 p.m,
Coastal Migratory Pelagics Amendment 26 considers options to revise Annual Catch Limits and the stock boundary for king mackerel, allow the sale of king mackerel bycatch in the shark gillnet fishery, and establish a sub-quota specific to the new mixing zone.
Stakeholders interested in learning more and providing comments about the amendment can tune in Wednesday, February 4th at 6PM to a scoping webinar with the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council.
