LOS ANGELES, Calif. — December 4, 2014 — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has shut down Los Angeles-based Neptune Manufacturing Inc., barring it from processing and distributing its smoked and pickled seafood products until the company and its owners comply with federal food safety laws.
According to a consent decree of permanent injunction signed Monday in California federal court, the fish processing plant and owners Alexander Goldring, Peter Oyrekh and Semyon Krutovsky must comply with the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act before they can resume operation.
