NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — September 20, 2014 — When High Liner Foods bought the city company American Pride Seafood, High Liner became a leader in supplying fish products to corporate chains.
With $260 million in 2006 sales rising to $1.2 billion this year, the company's latest addition is the most recent in a decade of explosive growth.
The acquisition was celebrated Friday morning in a ribbon cutting event outside the Herman Melville Boulevard site.
"In a really short period of time "¦ we've added a billion dollars worth of activity into our organization through a series of acquisitions," said Keith Decker, High Liner's president and COO.
Decker said acquiring American Pride allowed the company to take a leadership role in supplying corporate chains including Wendy's, Burger King and Long John Silver's.
