September 12, 2014 — The following was released by the Garden State Seafood Association:
The Garden State Seafood Association is encouraging our members and all vessels owners and operators to carefully review the Small Vessel General Permit regulations all relevant EPA documentation and clarify any questions before making any equipment or supply purchases or any changes to vessel operations and procedures.
We have asked our lead staff on this issue, Mr. Rick Marks, to create an abbreviated summary of the final requirements including the revisions made to the initial draft permit.
We encourage the industry to pay attention to the effective dates of the permit, the geographical range and the permit requirements, including inspections and record keeping.
Included in the summary are contacts for staff at the Environmental Protection Agency and regional staff.
