September 9, 2014 — The following was released by NOAA:
The Delmarva Scallop Access Area will close to scallop fishing on September 15, 2014. Any vessel that plans to fish in the Delmarva Scallop Access Area must declare a Delmarva trip through VMS and record a VMS position outside the demarcation line prior to 00:01 on September 15. If you break your Delmarva trip on or after July 16, 2014, and we authorize the vessel to take a compensation trip, you can take the compensation trip in the first 60 days that the Delmarva area is open in FY 2015.
For Full-Time vessels only: A Delmarva trip that is not started prior to September 15 will be automatically exchanged for 5 DAS. If your vessel has more than one Delmarva trip, we will issue DAS in exchange for only one Delmarva trip for each vessel. We will not issue DAS in exchange for compensation trips issued for broken Delmarva trips.
