August 28, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 66,600 pounds of fish and 31,800 pounds of scallops Tuesday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 20 to 30 Mid Atlantic: 20,000 pounds ($12.45)
Scrod haddock: 15,500 pounds ($1.05)
Scrod pollock: 11,100 pounds (79 cents)
Medium pollock: 10,700 pounds ($1.15)
