August 26, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 22,700 pounds of fish and 93,400 pounds of scallops Friday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, 10 to 20 Georges: 19,400 pounds ($13.20)
Scallops, 20 to 30 Closed Area II: 17,100 pounds ($13.40)
Scallops, U10 Closed Area II: 15,500 pounds ($14.60)
Scallops, U12 Georges: 12,600 pounds ($14.48)
Scallops, U12 Closed Area II: 8,000 pounds ($14.45)
The Portland, Maine, Display Auction handled 24,600 pounds of fish Sunday
