July 23, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 58,500 pounds of fish and 148,900 pounds of scallops Monday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, U10 Georges: 46,500 pounds ($15.70)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Mid Atlantic: 32,200 pounds ($12.68)
Scallops, U12 Georges: 22,100 pounds ($13.13)
Scallops, U12 Mid Atlantic: 21,300 pounds ($14.55)
Scallops, U10 Mid Atlantic: 13,700 pounds ($15.20)
The Portland, Maine, Display Auction handled 22,600 pounds of fish and 300 pounds of scallops Monday.
