NEW BEDFORD, Mas.– June 30, 2014 — The amendment has the potential to change where different vessels from New Bedford fish because the proposed conservation measures would place restrictions on the types of fishing gear that can be used in specific areas. The Gulf of Maine Research Institute will host a series of seven public listening sessions, including one in the city, about the New England Fishery Management Council's proposed Habitat Amendment — Omnibus Habitat Amendment 2.
The session in New Bedford will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 22 at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 185 MacArthur Drive.
