June 17, 2014 — The Buyers And Sellers Exchange (BASE), an electronic auctioning company that sells landings at owner Whaling City Seafood Display Auction in New Bedford, Boston’s Whaling City Auction, and Gloucester’s Whaling City Auction, handled 11,700 pounds of fish and 11,600 pounds of scallops Friday.
Top species landed and average prices were:
Scallops, U10 Channel: 8,800 pounds ($14.55)
Scallops, 10 to 20 Channel: 2,800 pounds ($12.38)
Small greysole: 2,300 pounds ($2.82)
Mixed yellowtail: 2,000 pounds (72 cents)
Small dabs: 1,900 pounds (91 cents)
