May 12, 2014 — The North Carolina Fisheries Association plans a bus trip Tuesday, May 13, to Alexandria, Va., for a meeting of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission.
The trip is free to the public. Attendees will be responsible for their meals.
The NCFA is the trade group for the state’s commercial fishermen, headed by President Jerry Schill of Craven County.

The NCFA recently reorganized and brought back Schill, its longtime president. He said the group would be more proactive on issues threatening the livelihoods of North Carolina’s commercial fishing industry.
