Today, NOAA Fisheries announced that based on public comment received we are going to continue to allow sector vessels access to two portions of the Nantucket Lightship Closed Area under standard at-sea monitoring requirements for the duration of the fishing year. Access to this area will pose little risk to vulnerable groundfish stocks and allow fishermen to target other fish species.
