February 28, 2014 — New England fisheries are set to benefit from $32.8 million in federal disaster funds that would help bolster reduced fish stocks and help fishing businesses that have been impacted, according to an announcement from Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Sen. Chris Murphy and Rep. Joe Courtney.
The funding is part of a total of $75 million in assistance from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to help fishing industries hurt by depleted stocks, Hurricane Sandy, flooding and other problems.
