November 29, 2013 — The following was released by NOAA Fisheries:
Today NOAA Fisheries announces that Virginia's 2013 commercial summer flounder quota has been harvested, and the fishery will close at 6:01 pm on December 4th, for the remainder of 2013.
NOAA Fisheries has coordinated this fishery closure with the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a result, both federal and state permitted vessels may no longer land commercially caught summer flounder in Virginia as of 6:01 pm on December 4th.
