Bewildering is just one of the many — and kinder — words one can use to describe NOAA’s loopy decision to close the black sea bass fishery.
Party boat owners, who have been suffering under onerous restrictions for years when it comes to summer flounder, have just had one of last fisheries remaining to them closed. Most of the captains contacted after the news was released said pretty much the same thing, "It’s another nail in the coffin."
While the closure only affects federal waters, its another indication that things continue to get tough for the recreational angler and the businesses that support the industry.
